When you call, explain which procedure you are asking about and whether you are a new or returning patient. Ask what type of appointment is needed first, which records or forms to bring, and how scheduling works for that service.
Your clinician can discuss whether a procedure is appropriate for you and explain the individual medical questions.
Ask about preparation.
Preparation and follow-up instructions are specific to the procedure and the individual. Obtain those instructions from the office rather than using a general website description.
Bring a current medication list and any paperwork the office requests. If you are unclear about instructions you have received, call to clarify them before the appointment.
Check insurance and costs.
Ask the office about your specific plan and the service you are considering. Your insurer can explain benefits, exclusions, and any required referral or authorization. Participation in an insurance network does not guarantee coverage for every procedure.
